Frequently Asked Questions
Are PandaScales instruments really free?
Yes. Individual clinicians, NHS/public sector services, and academic researchers can use all instruments at no cost. We believe clinical tools should be accessible to everyone who needs them.
Do I need to register to use the instruments?
Registration is not currently required for individual clinical use. We encourage registration so we can keep you updated on validation progress and instrument updates.
Can I modify the instruments for my research?
Please contact us to discuss any modifications. We want to maintain instrument integrity while supporting genuine research needs. We are happy to collaborate on adapted versions.
What about commercial use?
Commercial applications (private clinics, EAPs, digital health platforms) require a licensing agreement. Contact us to discuss terms — we aim to keep costs reasonable and proportionate.
Are the instruments validated?
Item development is complete for all four instruments. Formal validation studies are planned. See our Research & Validation page for the current status and roadmap.
